Alpha-casozepine
From natural sort of nutrition to relaxing ingredient for anxious pets
GABA-a receptor
γ-Aminobutyric acid(GABA) is one of important neurotransmitter in central nervous system(CNS).
GABA’s inhibitory effects are mediated by two types of receptors, GABA-A
and GABA-B receptors.
γ-Aminobutyric acid sub-type A receptors are the most prominent inhibitory neurotransmitter receptors in the CNS. They are a family of ligand-gated ion channel with significant physiological and therapeutic implications.
GABA-A is one of the most significant drug targets in the treatment of neuropsychiatric disorders such as epilepsy, insomnia, and anxiety, as well as in anesthesia in surgical operations.
Alpha-casozepine
Alpha-casozepine is derived from the hydrolysis of alpha S1 casein of bovine's milk and corresponds to the f91-100 fraction. The researchers determined that has relaxing properties, thanks to a structure similar to benzodiazepines.
The Milk Protein Hydrolysate peptide binds to GABA-A receptors via the benzodiazepine site. It has no side-effects, and is not addictive. Alpha-casozepine is a hydrolyzed milk protein and is hypoallergenic.
Unlike benzodiazepines, which belong to the anxiolytics family, alpha-casozepine does not have any toxic effect on the body, even at high doses.
It is completely natural, and therefore totally harmless.
